Assessor

The Assessor is an independent contractor and not an employee of the Town. The Town Board enters into a contract with such person or company to provide the following services:

Inspect, appraise, and establish the value of all new construction and improvements; bring all property values to the level of assessment provided by the Department of Revenue; value all new land descriptions; complete current level of assessments for agricultural land; appraise personal property; complete and verify the assessment role for the annual Board of Review; conduct the Board of Review.

Effective June 1, 2023, the Rockland assessing will be conducted by Fair Market Assessments. 

A town wide market revaluation will start the fall of 2023 and be ready mid to late summer 2024.
