Town Clerk
The Town Clerk serves a key administrative role within the Town of Rockland. The Town Clerk works under the direction of the Town Board to carry out the day-to-day administrative tasks associated with municipal government. The Town Clerk is a part-time position appointed by the Town Board and may be removed from office by the Town Board in accordance with all applicable Wisconsin Statutes.
Julie Koenig has been serving as the Clerk since April 2017. Her main job responsibilities include the following:
- Conducts elections and oversees training of workers
- Serves as custodian of the public records
- Serves as Secretary at all Town Board, Town Elector, Board of Review and Board of Adjustment meetings
- Monitors Town finances and provides monthly reports to the Board
- Fulfills requests for public information
- Administers oaths of office and serves as notary public
- Maintains and updates website
- Coordinates, edits and distributes quarterly newsletter
- Facilitates purchases and bids, RFP’s, etc.
- Publishes and posts notices
- Issues licenses, including bartender, liquor and tobacco
- Assists with the preparation of annual budget
- Assists with preparation of year- end financial statement
- Conducts payroll and pays taxes
- Establishes and maintains personnel files
- Completes reports as required by federal, state, and county regulations
Clerk Hours are: Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Feel free to call if you need to meet outside these hours.
Please excuse the occasional errand or training date which might dictate a different schedule that week.
